Free Air wishes to celebrate the creation of man and nature to which he belongs.
The plain of the abbey is a place where biodiversity and landscapes are very rich. Along the Rhone, it is a green lung of 200 ha, in the heart of a major city (Grand Avignon). It is increasingly popular but remains preserved. We hope through this event, publicize the land art, professional artists engaged in this discipline and enhance the plain of the abbey from which to explore the fauna and flora. The artistic committee of the Association Free Air (organizer) of artists, professionals and members of the association selects:
- An artist in residence 15 days from 19 April to 2 May inclusive, to create works on the plain of the abbey. This artist will also intervene at an association and a class of a school of Villeneuve lez Avignon.
Pay € 1600. Accommodation and food (in part) supported by the association.
- 3 artists in residence from 30 April to 2 May inclusive, to create a work on the plain of the Abbey. Pay € 500. Accommodation and food (in part) supported by the association.
The selection will be made on 1 March 2010.
Important It is possible to submit projects for both residential

The scholarship will be awarded € 1,600 for the project selected.
1.a Specification
The selection committee may ask you to come in for a final selection. The final selection of artists will be effective only after this final validation.
The creation of the work
The work is created on site during the time of residence. It is intended to be exposed outdoors. Inspired by the place (meetings, history, geography, its timeliness: water, Rhone, agriculture, Mistral ...), the artist must provide a work that fits into the landscape by taking into account: scale, materials ... and enhancing it. We advise you to inspire photos (on request from the organizer directly).
The work can be shifted and push the reaction to loss of marks or more melted into the background and ask the public an effort to discern ... The goal is to get visitors to take a new look at the place, pushing his eye on his surroundings.
Relevance of the eyes focused on where and originality are the criteria for selection essential.
Natural materials are preferred. The work must not in any way cause damage to the environment. It should be safe for visitors and inhabitants of the plain of the abbey.
It is possible to present two projects at this time of residence.
The work must be in place for at least three months (until July 31, 2010).
If the work is dangerous and can not be replaced, the association may, after consultation with the artist, disassemble before the date of July 31, 2010.
Artworks will remain the property of candidates. The subsequent transport of the works is support candidates. One piece will be considered abandoned if not removed on or before August 30, 2010 and in this case will be recovered or destroyed by the organizer.
The artist agrees to give up work in case of natural deterioration (wind, weather, etc. ...), this at its expense (including travel and materials) until 31 July 2010. The internship
Mornings of April 19 to 23, an internship Land Art is established. 6 children of young space of Villeneuve lez Avignon (managed by the association Tôtout'Arts ") will participate in the internship supervised by a facilitator and artist in residence. interventions
The artist will have to accommodate a class (colleges, high schools) framed by the teacher and an organizer on a morning or two in order to educate the public on his approach.
Association of Plastic Arts "Arts Alive" Land Art will host a day on the Plaine de l'Abbaye. This association holds an annual day of outdoor creations. A meeting between the artist and the association is to put in place. The artist
agrees to meet with the press and media during the time of residence. The appointment will be made in agreement with him.
materials are the responsibility of the artist. It is for artists to find, if necessary, suppliers, opportunities. Any supply may possibly be a special arrangement between the organizer and artist. This point must necessarily be addressed by the artist in the technical part of your application. All
travel are the responsibility of the artist. During the event, the organizer may support some travel.
photographic rights are transferred during the time of residence and exhibition of works, the photographs being used for the promotion and dissemination activities for the association of air. The artist agrees to be photographed for the same reasons. A photographic collection will be made which will result in regular exhibitions in the year. The artist agrees to assign the rights of the photos that will form the photographic collection at the Air Self association. The work remains the intellectual property of the artist.
Presence throughout the residence. And when the opening for tours.
Food
A portion of the food will be provided by the organizer in the form of a basket bio (worth of 100 € per week). The outdoor meals are the responsibility of the artist.
Hosting is the responsibility of the organizer.

For residences of three days: brief description of the completed part in the workshop and the party carried out in situ.

Contract:
Contractual arrangements bind to the artist and the organizer if the owner of the place hosting the work.
Insurance:
The artist agrees to incur liability insurance.
No insurance covers the candidates themselves nor their work. The organizer will not be liable for damages caused to the candidates, their equipment and / or purpose of their work.
By the fact of registration, the candidate fully supports the terms of the settlement.
Decisions of the artistic committee are final and will be personally communicated to candidates in early March 2010 without that the jury be required to justify its decisions.
