"Along the way ..." Path, art and environment will be held for the second year on the Plain of the Abbey of Villeneuve lez Avignon.
About 5000 people visited the installations of the artists in 2010: François Fréchet, Femke Van Dam, Myriam Manor, Matilda Mérigot and Christophe Fréry and Yoann Crépin, only came as an amateur artist. Four projects will be selected this year for their originality and their relevance to open eyes on this special place.

Open Air celebrates the creation of man and nature which he belongs.
Along the Rhône, the plain of the Abbey is a real green lung of 200 acres in the heart of a major city (Grand Avignon). It is increasingly popular but remains preserved.
"Along the way" aims to develop this land, its history linked to the Rhone and agriculture, biodiversity by ring-taking as an art medium and place the landscape in which it operates.

The artistic committee of the Association Free Air (organizer) of artists, professionals and members of the association selects:
4 artists in residence 1 week, to create works on the plain of the abbey.
Pay € 1000.
Private accommodation and food (in part) supported by the association.
The selection will be made beginning in February 2011.
financing of the project is not yet confirmed the date hereof, changes can take place. It may also, for this reason that we should postpone the event.

1. Call for projects

Residence of a week of March 21 to 27
The scholarship will be awarded € 1,000 for each project selected.

1.a Specification
The selection committee may ask you to come in for a final selection. The final selection of artists will be effective only after this final validation.
The creation of the work
The work is created on site during the time of residence. It is intended to be exposed outdoors. Inspired by the place (meetings, history, geography, its timeliness: water, Rhone, agriculture, Mistral ...), the artist must provide a work that fits into the landscape by taking into account: scale, materials ... and enhancing it. We advise you to inspire photos (on request from the organizer directly).
The work can be shifted and push the reaction to loss of marks or more melted into the background and ask the public an effort to discern ... The goal is to get visitors to take a new look at the place, pushing his eye on his surroundings.
Relevance of the eyes focused on where and originality are key selection criteria.
Natural materials are preferred. The work must not in any way cause damage to the environment. It must not present safe for visitors and inhabitants of the plain of the abbey.
The work must be in place until July 31, 2011 .
If the work is degraded and present danger, the association may, after consultation with the artist, before the dismantling of 31 July 2011.
Artworks will remain the property of candidates. The subsequent transport of the works is dependent candidates. One piece will be considered abandoned if not removed on or before August 30, 2011 and in this case will be recovered or destroyed by the organizer.
The artist agrees to replace Artwork for damage to natural (wind, weather, etc. ...), this at its expense (including travel and materials) until 31 July 2011.
encounters during residency: mediation
A morning during the residency, a meeting will take place between artists and young children in the area of Villeneuve lez Avignon (managed by the association Tôtout'Arts " ). A work may be created by children during this internship. A previous project, or a presentation of children's participation in the installation of the selected work is requested artists on the record.
The artist will have to accommodate a class (colleges, high schools) framed by the teacher and an organizer on a morning or two in order to educate the public on his approach.
A meeting between the artist and the Association of Visual Arts Villeneuve lez Avignon is put in place.
The artist agrees to meet with the press and media during the time of residence. The appointment will be made in agreement with him.
materials
A budget of 150 euros is allocated for each project selected (invoice required). It is for artists to find, if necessary, suppliers, opportunities. Any supply may possibly be a special arrangement between the organizer and artist. This point must necessarily be addressed by the artist in the technical part of your application.

photographic rights are transferred during the time of residence and exhibition of works, the photographs being used for the promotion and dissemination activities for the association of air. The artist agrees to be photographed for the same reasons. A photographic collection will be made which will result in regular exhibitions in the year. The artist agrees to assign the rights of the photos that will form the photographic collection at the Air Self association. The work remains the intellectual property of the artist.

Food
A portion of the food will be provided by the organizer in the form of a basket bio. The outdoor meals are the responsibility of the artist.
Hosting is the responsibility of the organizer.

1.c Miscellaneous
Contract:
contractual provisions binding upon the artist and the organizer if the owner of the place hosting the work.
Insurance:
The artist agrees to incur liability insurance.
No insurance covers the candidates themselves nor their work. The organizer will not be liable for damages caused to the candidates, their equipment and / or purpose of their work.
By the fact of registration, the candidate fully supports the terms of the settlement. The decisions of
artistic committee are final and will be personally communicated to candidates in early February 2011, the jury without having to substantiate its decisions.
